A private label candle project can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks to complete depending on the product complexity and quantities required. At Catering Candles, over 90% of our private label projects are completed within 6 weeks of receiving a decision to proceed.
Minimum order quantities vary by product, but can be as little as 108 candles for simple (unbranded) products, with 250-500 being a more typical minimum for branded products.
Please see the steps below detailing how we get you from initial enquiry to delivery of your final product.
The process begins with you briefing us on your requirements. This is usually done by telephone, however we can arrange meeting at our office in Cheshire if this is something you would prefer. Following our initial brief, we may request additional information via email or hard copy.
As a trusted advisor to many luxury candle brands, we have considerable experience in all aspects of bringing a product to market and most clients find this initial consultation invaluable.
Once we have a simple understanding of what it is you require, we will provide you with an initial quotation. Although at this early stage we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy, it will include an estimate of all costs involved, including any initial set-up costs and delivery charges. So there will be no nasty surprises further on. For that reason it is generally accurate enough to decide if the project is going to be feasible.
Once the project has been considered to be viable, we will then begin developing the finer points of your product. This involves confirming fragrance and packaging choices, and finalising any artwork required (with our in house graphic designer if needed).
At this stage it is possible to send samples of fragrances, glasses and any packaging, as well as a full size prototypes.
With the final details ironed out, we will next provide an official quotation and outline payment terms. Our terms are usually pro-forma for new clients.
You decide if you wish to proceed with the project. If you choose to proceed, we will issue an invoice and once settled, we can proceed to the final stage.
Final drafts of all artwork will be sent for your approval, once confirmation has been received we will proceed with ordering all necessary components (i.e. containers, labels, fragrances, boxes, wicks and any other items not held in our warehouse).
As the components arrive, we will book a production slot and update you on target delivery dates.
This is the longest stage for most projects, particularly if printed boxes or bespoke fragrances are required.
Once all of the components arrive, we will hand-pour your candles in our Cheshire based factory. The products will then go through quality control before being labelled and packaged as per your instructions.
Once your candles are in production, we will contact you to confirm a suitable delivery date.
Large candle orders are generally shipped on pallets. As we deem this to be the safest means of transport. However we can also provide the order 'Ex Works' should you wish to arrange collection using your own courier.
